Once on the form, you start with providing basic information like the Title, Introduction and Description. You can also add an Image. If you do, providing an alt text (available to the visually impaired) is required as well.
A good alt text is short (10-15 words/140 characters or less), does not start with 'image of' (screen readers will tell the user already) and describes the image content without 'editorialising' (describing emotions, intentions, interpretations). It is different from the image caption which you can also provide. The caption is optional and will be displayed to all users. For example:
Caption: Our courses are in a facility right next to National Park High Fens in Belgium.
Alt text: A deer standing in a forest, looking straight into the camera.
Then there are some fields for the metadata about your course, such as the Language in which the course is given, the Target audience ISCED level (e.g. Lower secondary education), type (e.g. Student Teacher) and related keywords (subjects, vocational subjects, topics & key competences). Providing the correct information here greatly helps potential participants find the right course for them (when applying filters).
You will also have to describe key pedagogical aspects:
Learning objectives (What skills or knowledge a participant will have after the course)
Methodology and assessment (What modes of teaching will be used and if/how participants’ learning is assessed)
Learning time (Hours in the classroom or strictly educational activities, excluding cultural excursions and other activities that are not a) directly linked to the course topic and b) are used as a teaching method. If a certificate is provided, the hours indicated here should correspond to the hours shown on the certificate.)
This is followed by some fields about the services that you offer with this course: the Package contents (what you will organise for the participants), the Fee and Currency, and Provides certificate (if yes, you will need to describe what kind of certificate or accreditation).
Concerning the location data, note also the option All sessions will take place at the same location. On our platform you have two options:
set a location for each course session (each time a course takes place/is offered)
set a location for the course as a whole
If you offer the same course in different locations, it is best to set the location at session level, rather than creating a separate course for each location. This will help users find courses of interest more easily and makes management of your courses easier.
You can also include link to a page with more information, e.g. this specific course on your website. And lastly, you can change the Contact person for this posting. Their details are not publicly advertised anywhere, but they will (via their email) recieve questions from potential participants. The default option is the ‘Contact person of the organisation’, which you can change by editing your organisation.
